On this week in 1987, Robocop was almost #1 at the North American box-office.

It actually was beaten, by about $1.3 million, by a re-release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Which is about as unfortunate as Ultravox’s Vienna being kept off the #1 spot in the British charts by a novelty song. Anyway, after the discussion of Showgirls this weekend, it seems appropriate to have another Paul Verhoeven film!

Dead or alive, you’re coming with me!
