In case you missed it, Jon Duplantier’s time in the rotation proved brief, with him being put on the IL with what is being called right shoulder inflammation. Hopefully nothing too serious, and it might explain why he seemed considerably more tentative on the mound last night, than in previous outings. To take his roster spot, the team has brought Stefan Crichton back from Reno, though this is only a stop-gap move, with the team needing a starting pitcher for Sunday. Zack Godley seems to be a popular choice for a return to the rotation. He has been pitching well out of the ‘pen - but then, his problem was always going through the order for a second or third time. We’ll see...

Meanwhile, let’s update the standings on Reno Bus Bingo. We will have a rules decision here in a bit with regard to Duplantier. Does being removed from the roster due to injury count? I guess we’ll see what happens when he returns. If he comes off the IL and goes to Reno, then it probably does, but if it’s straight back onto the MLB roster, than it probably doesn’t. Anyway, it’s definitely another point for Crichton, so here are the latest standings after that, and the other moves since the last update on May 28th.

  • Duplantier: 4 stints
  • Vargas: 3 stints
  • Locastro: 3 stints
  • Clarke: 3 stints
  • Sherfy: 3 stints
  • Cron: 2 stints
  • Crichton: 2 stints
  • Joseph: 1 stint

Rubber game of the series in Philadelphia, so let’s see whether we can take this one. A road win against a top of the division opponent would be very welcome...
