Kansas City 5, Arizona 4
Ryne Nelson made his 2023 MLB debut on Tuesday night, facing off against MLB’s cellar-dwellers, the Kansas City Royals. Ryne’s outing was uneven at best, but the right-hander managed to gut out five innings of work. Arizona’s bats came around late, but it was simply too little too late to salvage a win.

Nelson, Offense Struggle Versus Royals
It was a rough night for Ryne Nelson on the mound. The right-hander gave up four runs on 11 hits, while striking out only three. On the plus side, Nelson still managed to complete five innings of work and did not issue any free passes, which likely would have made things much worse.
