So I was looking up something statistically for a writing project I was working on, and I found this interesting list. Here is the list of names, with one exception, sorted by plate appearances:
Cal Ripken, Jr.
Ken Griffey, Jr.
Obviously, all of them are in the Hall, with the exceptions of those who haven't appeared on the ballot yet (Pujols, A-Rod, Cabrera, Beltran) or those with major PED concerns (Bonds, Palmeiro, Sheffield, Ramirez) or Rose, who is banned. All of those with major PED concerns had multiple years on the ballot; the name I left off the list was one-and-done, but if he were to be elected by special committees, he would be the third former Diamondback (joining RJ and Roberto Alomar) to go into the Hall.
Assuming that Beltran is elected at some point (Beltran is, statistically, the most similar player), should a special committee re-examine the only member of this list to go one-and-done on Hall voting?
