PYW’s 2021: Week 13

What is more fun than Diamondbacks baseball? Well, according to you all, basically anything...

Ben Eller, 3-year-old son of the Metropolitan Open champion Richard, helps his father display the trophy that went along with the first-place finish in the tournament on his home course of Old Hickory June 12, 1971 Robert Johnson / The Tennessean via Imagn Content Services, LLC

Last week, I asked you to tell me something that shouldn’t be more fun than watching a Dbacks game, and yet, it turns out it actually is. You came up with some very telling suggestions, clearly showing how many of you are well and truly fed up with the low quality of play the Diamondbacks have put forward this season. However, as always, there can only be one winner, and this week, it’s Justin27!

Going through the desert on a horse with no name (5 recs)

In second place, we have NikT, with a sticky suggestion...

Handwashing Baxter’s suit after a particularly humid day (4 recs)

Yikes... if that’s not an indictment of the team, I don’t know what is...

Rounding out our Top 3 this week is DbacksEurope!

Take the thickest book of a foreign language you don’t know and start reading it out loud That means the language at least needs to be written in A-Z alphabet (3 recs)

Glancing at my bookshelves, for me that would be... the Gaelic edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, I think. Maybe I’ll give it a go next time I get a hankering to watch the Diamondbacks.

Now let’s see how this affects the standings!

NikT and Justin are closing in on Hacks in second. However, with just two weeks left until the All Star Break, Jack has a comfortable, though not insurmountable, lead over all three. It’s not too late for a huge rush from Hacks, Nik, or Justin, however, so it will be worth watching to see how these last few weeks pan out.

For that, as always, we need a prompt. Come up with a gameday giveaway that best represents the Diamondbacks this season. Go!
