PYW’s 2021: Week 6

New, 5 comments

What is going through our highest paid pitcher’s mind?

Jaydin Eierman is presented with his stop sign trophy after winning at 65 kg during the UWW Senior National freestyle wrestling championships,  Joseph Cress/Iowa City Press-Citizen via Imagn Content Services, LLC

Last week, I asked you to take this picture of Madison Bumgarner staring intently into the camera while delivering a pitch and tell me what he was thinking. Lots of good answers, but not many recs were spread around this week. Don’t forget, clicking that button costs you nothing!

Despite the general stinginess with recs this week, Hacks was able to hoard several of them to himself and easily walked away with first place in our contest this week

Randy Johnson can kiss my ass (7 recs)

Normally, I’d side with RJ on this, but after his comments regarding the disrespected no hitter Bumgarner threw, I’m inclined to agree with Madbum...

In second place, newcomer to the podium, a newcomer this season but frequent winner in seasons past, MrMrrbi!

He saw a young calf in the on deck circle and wishe he had brought rope to lasso him (3 recs)

I’m sure Madison Bumgarner would know nothing of that. Now Mason Saunders might be a different story!

And rounding out our top three, the current resident of the top spot on our leaderboard, Jack Sommers

There is a Beat Writer in the Box Taking BP off him and he’s so totally pumped up at his opportunity to bean one of them he can’t contain it (2 recs)

I don’t know. That seems like more interacting with the media than he is likely to do, even if it is a violent interaction!

Now let’s see how this week’s results shakes up the leaderboard, shall we?

Standings

Player Recs
Player Recs
Jack Sommers 19
Diamondhacks 16

Justin27 4
Makakilo 3
MrMrrbi 3

Jack hangs on to first postion, but it’s a much smaller gap between him and Hacks now. Strong performances from both of them over the first quarter of the season are seemingly letting them pull away from the field, however, a couple of strong weeks from just about anyone could tighten things up in a hurry!

Recently, a huge topic of conversation amongst Diamondbacks fans has been the new sales tax/user fee/extra money going to KK on tickets, concessions and the like that is earmarked for renovations to the stadium. If you were put in charge of spending that money (again, earmarked for renovations to Chase) what would be the first thing you do? Go!
