The Dbacks got all of their run scoring out the way early, and wrapped up the offense after the 3rd inning. Starting pitcher Zac Gallen was pretty good as usual, though not his best, he still had the win locked up after 6 innings. In the 7th Caleb Smith took the mound and promptly blew the save and the Mets tied things up at 4-4. In the 8th, 9th, and 10th innings the Diamondbacks offense produced big shiny goose-eggs, and 10th inning pitcher Stephan Crichton showed us all what the bullpen is made of - free walks - and a run scored - game over - walk off loss. *HEAVY SIGH.
What’s worse? Bullpen or Offense?

The bullpen. It needs work - BIG TIME
The offense. You can’t leave like 16 runners on base per game and expect to win games
Both are fine
From the article: The D-backs finished the night 1-for-16 with runners in scoring position and they stranded 13 runners. Including the three-game set with the Marlins, the D-backs have left 41 runners on base over their last four games and are a combined 3-for-44 with runners in scoring position.
From the article: In 23 games this season, Mathisen is averaging .119 to go along with five hits, eight RBIs and three runs scored. He’s also been walked five times and tallied 21 strikeouts.
From the article: As for Miley, he leaned heavily on the cutter that revived his career and dodged hard contact almost all night thanks to his mixing up of locations and speed and working quickly. He also had much success working inside against the abundance of right-handed bats in the Cleveland lineup. Of note is that Cleveland came in ranking just 13th in the American League with a team batting average of just .212.
From the article: IL placements are up 15 percent overall compared to the first month of the 2019 season, Rosenthal reports, with a 22 percent uptick among pitchers. Specifically, soft-tissue injuries such as hamstring, quadriceps and oblique injuries have nearly doubled in frequency, while arm and elbow injuries are up by a much slighter margin of 19 percent.
From the article: “When I was running around the field, hearing the crowd, hearing my family, hearing everybody cheer me on, it hit me like a ton of bricks,” Robinson said. “It felt so good to be out there. I’m so happy I was able to appreciate everything for what it was in the moment. That’s something I wasn’t able to do before the incident.”
