D-backs players go “All in” on #AllWin campaign

I continue to be impressed by our players’ efforts on behalf of charity. Here’s the latest.

When the Arizona Diamondbacks win this season, communities around the world win, too. Through Big League Impact’s #ALLWIN Arizona campaign, three players from the team have pledged to donate their own money to a cause or charity close to their hearts, each time the team wins this season. Led by Big League Impact supporters Nick Ahmed and Luke Weaver, these Arizona Diamondbacks have teamed up to pledge a combined $2,050 per win and hope to raise at least $180,000 by the end of the 2021 regular season. Proceeds will be divided among their selected charities as follows:

  • Nick Ahmed: Compassion International (Fill the Stadium initiative)
  • Luke Weaver: Consider the Lily
  • Joakim Soria: 1Mission

Ahmed has been involved with the Fill the Stadium initiative since early 2020, and we wrote about that endeavor earlier this year. It provides support for nearly 70,000 children in need around the world; for every $500 raised, Compassion International is able to provide a year’s worth of essential food, nutritional supplements, hygiene essentials, and other critical items for children in crisis. Consider The Lily is a home for exploited and trafficked girls in Manila, Philippines, while 1Mission is a community development organization giving people in poverty the opportunity to earn a house by serving their community, with projects in Mexico, Nicaragua, and El Salvador.

Said Nick, “I’m excited by the international focus of this year’s #ALLWIN Arizona campaign. There is so much need around the world, and I’m proud to be teaming up with these guys to raise not just money, but awareness, for these very worthy causes. There is so much we can do from right here in Phoenix to help lift these people up in their moment of need.”

Fans are encouraged to join their favorite big leaguers and make a fundraising pledge of their own through the PledgeIt platform. Individuals who donate at least $1 per win (minimum $80 donation) will receive a limited edition #ALLWIN Arizona T-shirt.
