Diamondbacks News
Welcome to Colorado, where all early-season games seem to experience rain delays. After 51 minutes of waiting, Luke Weaver looked rough but finished the night with an entirely acceptable three earned runs through 5 2⁄3 innings. The Diamondbacks’ bats took a bit longer to take the field, not showing up until the fifth inning. The Diamondbacks clawed their way to a slim margin of a lead in regulation, only to see it disappear with two outs in the ninth inning. As is often the case in Colorado, the Diamondbacks found themselves down to the last man standing in the bullpen. In this case, that man was Matt Peacock, making his MLB debut after being called up when Joakim Soria was sent to the IL. Peacock pitched three shaky, but ultimately successful innings, allowing the Diamondbacks to tally their second win in a row.

Matt Peacock Has Historic Debut
The Diamondbacks wasted no time in needing to lean on newly-promoted Matt Peacock. The Arizona right-hander made his MLB debut in extra innings in Colorado, tallied a hit at the plate, and a win on the mound.
Matt Peacock and Tim Locastro can lay claim to some quiet but fun little pieces of history.
