Diamondbacks News:
Diamondbacks 9 - Cleveland 4
11 hits produced 9 runs in what was an exciting start to Spring for some of the newer and backup position players on the Dbacks. O.G. 1st baseman Christian Walker started things off by smashing a 400 foot ding-dong over the centerfield wall to give the team a 2 run lead in the top of 1st inning - it was majestic, even over radio. Luke Weaver started the game and aside from a couple of hits early in the bottom of the 1st (one of them an infield single) Luke Weaver looked good. Although, he did not strikeout any batters in 2 IP.
Notable mentions include; ya boy, DH Josh VanMeter who knocked in a couple of runs. Also Juniel Querecuto and Dominic Leyba both with 2 hits and an RBI each.
Trayce Thompson who started in CF went 0-4 at the plate with 3 strikeouts. Meanwhile LF Stuart Fairchild went 2-4 with 2 RBIs and 1 R. Both of these guys hope to impress in camp if they want a shot at thems sweet-sweet outfield jobs that the Dbacks are looking to fill given Kole Calhoun’s knee injury and the massive question-mark around CF. Asdrubal Cabrera, the Dbacks back-up(?) at 2b and virtual any-infield-position player, had a rough day at the plate going 0-3 with 1 strikeout.

Placing a bet at Chase Field? Sports gambling in AZ moves closer to reality

Tim Locastro tests positive for Covid-19
From the article: Lovullo said Locastro was symptom-free and was not sure how he had contracted the virus. Further testing will take place to ensure Locastro did not have a false positive. In the meantime, Lovullo said the team had “minimal concern” that the virus may have spread to others in the clubhouse.
“I have a chance to say out loud, in front of a lot of people and not just [reporters], you can’t be too careful,” Lovullo said. “Those were some of the messages that we relayed to our group today. We have responsibilities when we step away from the ballpark. When we’re at the ballpark, we’re really good, we follow the protocols. But we step away from the ballpark, we can’t let our guard down.”

Former MLB executive says Albert Pujols has been lying about his age
From the article: Samson said, “There is not one person in baseball, not one executive, who believes Albert Pujols is the age that he says he is. The amount of fraud that was going on in the Dominican back in the day, the changing of names, the changing of birthdays, it would blow your mind.”
