Spring Training Gameday Thread, #29: 3/30 vs. Indians

Hello, Chase Field, my old friend

Diamondbacks line-up

  1. Ketel Marte, CF
  2. David Peralta, LF
  3. Eduardo Escobar, 3B
  4. Christian Walker. 1B
  5. Asdrubal Cabrera, 2B
  6. Carson Kelly, C
  7. Josh Rojas, SS
  8. Pavin Smith, RF
  9. RHP Taylor Widener, + LHP Alex Young, LHP Miguel Aguilar, LHP Sam Moll, RHP Yoan Lopez, RHP Jeremy Beasley, RHP Keury Mella, RHP J.B. Bukauskas

No Toreychat for this one, but scanning the Twitter, doesn’t appear there was too much to talk about. Chris Devenski was indeed added to the 40-man roster, with an eye to having him part of the bullpen when the season opens on Thursday. To make room, Tyler Clippard was placed on the 60-day DL. No word yet on who will be getting the final roster spot.

Otherwise, I’m wondering how close this is going to be to the Opening Day position player line-up we will see the day after tomorrow. Interesting to see Pavin Smith in right - #FreeTimLocastro. Otherwise, it may depend on Nick Ahmed’s availability. Torey said he would be fine, but he hasn’t been seen in game action for a while. However, I think Rojas will be fine as a replacement, based on his spring performance.

Game coverage

Fox Sports Arizona will be covering their final Diamondbacks game, before making the transition to Bally Sports Arizona on April 1. Not sure much will change: the channel numbers are apparently staying the same. Recap on this one is being brought to you by Dano, who’ll be wrapping up our spring game coverage after it’s all said and done.
