The Greinke-prospect continued to hold his own on the field and went 1-for-2 with a walk, continuing his impressive spring audition. At this point, the role of backup shortstop and utility fielder appears to be his to lose.

Gallen Impresses, Soria Depresses

Chalk up another 3.1 innings of scoreless baseball for the ace of Arizona’s rotation. Gallen walked one and struck out four in his outing. Unfortunately for the Diamondbacks, Joakim Soria was not as crisp out of the bullpen. The veteran reliever was mercy-ruled out of his inning in the fifth, surrendering four earned runs while only recording two outs before the inning was rolled over.

Where Did Ketel Marte’s Power Go?

The Diamondbacks are hoping that 2021 will see a return of a more patient Ketel Marte, which should help improve his results over his 2020 struggles.
