Snake Bytes 3/11: Evil Endures

The D-backs kept it close, but an error finished them off.

MLB: Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Diamondbacks News:

Dodgers 3, Dbacks 2.

David Peralta started the run scoring early with a solo-dong off Dodger’s Ace and starter, Clapton Kermit. From there the D-backs offense stayed mostly quiet aside from tying the game in the top of the 5th with another RBI by David Peralta. The game stayed tied until the bottom of the 9th when Dodger-evil walked it off after a fielding error by Domingo Leyba.

Derrick Hall on fans at Chase Field, Torey, more..

From the article: “As far as the activity and the aggressive nature of some other teams, I think that’s good for our division,” Hall said. “It’s a very competitive division. I think it’s the toughest division in baseball. And I look at that as a good thing for this group of guys. We were very aggressive the last couple of years in filling holes. We put together a team and a roster that we thought was going to be extremely competitive. Obviously, last year, we had our issues. But we didn’t feel like there was too much to change or tweak. Going into this year, obviously, we had to look at the bullpen and we’ve addressed a couple of holes there.”

Offseason in review: Arizona Diamondbacks

From the article: In looking at the Diamondbacks’ roster and division, there’s a strong case general manager Mike Hazen & Co. should have sold, not sit on the fence, during the offseason. PECOTA projects Arizona will win 79 games, which appears to be a reasonable figure and would place them a distant third in the NL West behind Los Angeles and San Diego – both of which are legitimate World Series contenders.
