Madison Bumgarner faces his old team in a Wednesday matinee at Chase.

It was a gorgeous day out today, allowing for the game to be played with the roof and panels open. Virtual Lovullo went back to his ‘A’ lineup for the matinee. With tomorrow being an off-day, fatigue should not become an issue.

Neither team managed to do anything in the first, both being retired in order.

2nd Inning

Wilmer Flores led things off for the Giants with a single. That brought up Mike Yastrzemski. With the count 3-0, Flores took off and Yastrzemski took a hefty pass at Bumgarner’s offering. The result was a routine grounder to second. Yastrzemski was out at first, but Flores slid in safe at second. That brought up Austin Riley who cranked a double, scoring Flores. Two more pitches by Bumgarner resulted in two outs, sending the Diamondbacks back to the dugout.
