After two days of very unflattering scorelines, hopefully today will prove better for the D-backs on both sides of the ball.

Maybe a good thing today’s game doesn’t appear to be getting broadcast, based on the showing of the last couple of days. Perhaps the insertion of Tomas into the starting line-up will prove the catalyst the teams need to get out from behind the woodshed. I’ll say no more on that topic, until after the game...

If you’re up early on Saturday morning, you might want to head over to the backfields at Salt River. The Diamondbacks will be playing a B-squad game there, in advance of the afternoon’s contest against the Dodgers. They’ll be facing a team from Tokyo’s Keio University, with the pitcher scheduled to include Robbie Ray, Stefan Crichton, and Kevin Ginkel.

Torey’s pre-game comments, including talking about the visit of Herm Edwards to the Diamondbacks clubhouse this morning.
