Spring Gameday Thread, #3: Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers

First MLB.com broadcast game of the year, though it seems to be audio only

MLB: Spring Training-Cleveland Indians at Arizona Diamondbacks Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Our first chance for the Diamondbacks to test their mettle against the World Series Champion reigning NL pennant-holders Dodgers, who definitely reached the playoffs last year... :) Will there be a Mookie Betts sighting at Salt River Fields this afternoon? If I find someone who cares, I will let you know. Meanwhile, here’s the Diamondbacks line-up.

  1. Ketel Marte, 2B
  2. Jon Jay, LF
  3. Kole Calhoun, RF
  4. Kevin Cron, DH
  5. Jake Lamb, 1B
  6. Nick Ahmed, SS
  7. Tim Locastro, CF
  8. John Hicks, C
  9. Wyatt Mathisen, 3B
+ RHP Jon Duplantier. RHP Joel Payamps, RHP Emilio Vargas, RHP Hector Rondón, RHP Stefan Crichton, LHP Matt Grace

Interesting to see Lamb starting at first rather than third. Something to keep an eye on as we go through spring, see how much of that there is. We also get to see whether Locastro can deliver the team’s first hit-by-pitch of 2020. He had already had [/checks notes] THREE plate-appearances without being plunked, so he’s clearly due... Seems like the game can be listened to through mlb.com, but not aware of any visual access to it.
