The only time when I actually condone the discussion of the NFL here. Enjoy it while it lasts...

I had to actually check to see who was playing in the game this year, that’s how little interest I have had in the NFL this year. Turns out to be the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers. I’ll naturally be cheering for the Chiefs, on the basis that San Francisco deserves to be denied any good things. But, of course, they’ll probably win, because of that even year BS thing.

I may be arriving late to the party. We first have to get through the Puppy Bowl and the Kitten Bowl, which are our Super Bowl Sunday traditions. Those are being recorded to be viewed on tape delay, so we can whizz through the adverts. But if I get my timing right, we should be caught up in time for not long after the puck drop, or whatever it’s called. If necessary, we can whizz through the game, pausing only for the adverts, until we get fully caught up. I’ve successfully managed to avoid online commercial spoilers, so we’ll see what Madison Avenue has come up with.

Usually, I get sent a list of amusing prop bets for the event, but that doesn’t seem to have happened this year. I’m also down with the corona virus or something, so don’t have the energy to trawl the internet looking for odds on the the color of Gatorade to be thrown over the coach. Feel free to do so. Otherwise, we’ll see you on the far side, as the NFL can return to the obscurity it so deserves, and all right-thinking individuals can anticipate the start of baseball season, with pitchers and catchers reporting in less than two weeks.
