Affiliates, Broadcasters, Lawyers, and Executives, may I have the honor?

Diamondbacks News:

D-backs set minor-league affiliates for 2021 season

“The Diamondbacks no longer will be affiliated with the Kane County Cougars, who had been their Low-A affiliate; the Jackson Generals, who were their Double-A affiliate; or the Missoula Paddleheads (formerly the Osprey), which had been one of their rookie-level clubs. The Diamondbacks had been affiliated with Missoula since 1996, two years before they began play at the major-league level.”

D-backs EVP & chief legal officer Nona Lee to be honored by WISE tonight (Wed 12/9).

“Lee has spent 21 years with the D-backs, overseeing all legal issues for the organization. Before dedicating her time solely to the D-backs, she served as Associate General Counsel (2000-04) and VP and Associate General Counsel (2004-05) for the Phoenix Suns, D-backs, Phoenix Mercury, Arizona Rattlers, Chase Field, US Airways Center and Dodge Theater.

In addition to overseeing the legal department, Lee leads the team’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts. She is a founding council member of D-backs for Change (dbacks.com/change), an Arizona Diamondbacks’ business and community initiative that seeks to level the playing field for our Team Players and community members.”

Derrick Hall to be honored by Greater Phoenix Urban League tonight (Wed12/9).

“This honor is incredibly meaningful to me both because of the way I was raised and because of what it says about the D-backs and all of our Team Players who are focusing their time and talents on social justice,” said Hall. “This year, as those efforts have been front and center for so many organizations, we are proud to have launched our D-backs for Change council and numerous Team Player Resources Groups engaged in the fight for diversity, equity and inclusion.”

Mike McQuaid breakfast to be held virtually at Chase Field

“It is particularly poignant and tremendously heartbreaking that in our 15thyear, we won’t have Mike McQuaid leading the program because of his passing,” Schwabenlender said. “We will have Mike in our hearts because he always touched us on emotional, spiritual and inspirational levels. We are very grateful to the Arizona Diamondbacks for the opportunity to originate the event from Chase Field, one of Mike’s creative ideas.”

Snake and eggs for breakfast? Florida may soon encourage you to eat invasive pythons

“We would like to use consumption as another way to encourage people to remove pythons in Florida if the meat is safe to eat,” Carli Segelson, a spokesperson for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, wrote in an email. “The study will help ensure that is safe.”
