BetOnline have come out with their first win totals for the 2020 season. Well, for at least 29 of the 30 teams, anyway: the Houston Astros are officially “off the board” at this point. Unless, presumably, you attract your bookmaker’s attention by banging a trash-can. Anyway, below are the odds for everyone else, ordered by division. If these come true, we’ll have the joy of cheering for the Yankees against the Dodgers in the World Series... Let’s hope for an upset there.
AL East
- New York Yankees 101½
- Tampa Bay Rays 90½
- Boston Red Sox 88½
- Toronto Blue Jays 75½
- Baltimore Orioles 55½
AL Central
- Minnesota Twins 92½
- Cleveland Indians 87½
- Chicago White Sox 84½
- Kansas City Royals 65½
- Detroit Tigers 56½
AL West
- Oakland Athletics 89½
- Los Angeles Angels 85½
- Texas Rangers 79½
- Seattle Mariners 67½
- Houston Astros Off the Board
NL East
- Atlanta Braves 91½
- Washington Nationals 90½
- New York Mets 86½
- Philadelphia Phillies 85½
- Miami Marlins 64½
NL Central
- St. Louis Cardinals 88½
- Chicago Cubs 86½
- Cincinnati Reds 83½
- Milwaukee Brewers 83½
- Pittsburgh Pirates 71½
NL West
- Los Angeles Dodgers 98½
- Arizona Diamondbacks 83½
- San Diego Padres 83½
- Colorado Rockies 74½
- San Francisco Giants 69½
So, what do you reckon? How does 831⁄2 wins sounds as a prediction for the Diamondbacks? Too high, too low or about right? How do the other tallies - both in the NL West and elsewhere - stack up? Where would you wager your shirt at this point?
