D-backs trade Zack Greinke for “big-time prospect haul.”
Greinke, still owed $77 million, was traded to the Astros for three top 5 prospects, Beer, Bakauskas, Martin (recent TJ) and the #22 prospect in the Astros system, Rojas. The Astros will pay $53 million of Greinke’s remaining contract as well.
D-backs get Gallen from Fish, Leake from M’s.
The D-backs traded Jazz Chisolm, their #1 draft pick, to the Miami Marlins for starting pitcher Zac Gallen.
The D-backs traded high A infielder Jose Caballero to Seattle for starting pitcher Mike Leake.
