The D-backs won in walk-off fashion last night in the 11th inning after Dave Roberts elected to intentionally walk Ketel Marte to get to David Peralta. A lose-lose situation if you ask Keegan.... and I agree: What was Dave Roberts thinking? Peralta laced the first pitch he saw to right field for a walk off victory.

The team is off today but will play a 3 game series in Toronto stating Friday @ 4:07 p.m.

D-backs flip rotation, expect Jones to return during road trip.

Here’s the breakdown: Kelly pitches Friday, Greinke Saturday, and Ray on Sunday. In Greinke’s last start he called the trainer to the mound and reported neck stiffness. Greinke was pulled from a start before then as well, but was cleared by staff and did not spend any time on the IL. Jones had a precautionary MRI but is expected to be OK and play either in Tor or Philly.

Rookie Duplantier settling in nicely as a starter.

“I liked what I saw,” Lovullo said. “It was that fastball attack I talked about early. He could feel the fastball presence and he stood on the mound and went right at some really good hitters and that set up his secondary stuff. There were some swings and misses on the secondary stuff that is set up by the fastball attack.”

66 at-bats, hit by pitch 10 times. I never liked Chase Utley for this reason but since Tim Locastro is on my team, I’m 1000% cool with it.

D-backs name Thomas, Smith top minor league players of May.

Thomas is an outfielder for the team’s Single-A affiliate, the Kane County Cougars, while Smith is a pitcher with the Jackson Generals, the team’s Double-A affiliate. Strange, Yasmany Golden Coral did not win?

In a press release the Indians stated that “Carlos was recently diagnosed with a blood condition following several weeks of feeling lethargic. While in the information-gathering stage, Carlos is stepping away from baseball activities to explore optimal treatment and recovery options.”
