Blue Jays 2, Diamondbacks 8

Coming to Canada was just what the doctor ordered for the D-backs. Their winning streak is now 4 games and are 2 games over .500 for the year. Robbie Ray looked like the Robby Ray we need. The D-backs as a team hit two home runs and came up a double short of an inning cycle in an 8-run inning.

The Toronto Raptors are on the cusp to win an NBA championship, basically for the whole country of Canada. I’m sure Toronto Blue Jays fans are not losing sleep over this sweep in what has been a disappointing season so far for them.

Why can we never just enjoy a sweep? There was not an apparent cause of the injury and little information is available. Ketel Marte will have to play shortstop, hopefully not too long.

Clarke Starts Series Opener Against the Phillies

The D-backs took care of business against a team they should beat. The upcoming series against the Phillies will be more of a challenge. Clarke will have a chance to prove he can be a starter for a while longer.

Farm Rumblings: Visalia Clinches and Jimmy Sherfy Shines

Jimmy Sherfy will probably get more time in the big leagues this year. As for Visalia making the playoffs again this year, that’s nice. But it’s also a nice town I visited once before next to Sequoia National Park, worth it to go there.

He was apparently shot at point blank range in the back. Had surgery to repair organ damage. We still don’t know the motivation of the shooter, but it appears that Ortiz will recover.

Nationals Go Back to Back to Back to Back

It has only happened nine times before. But the Nationals were actually the last team to do it before in 2017 and the only team to have ever accomplished that twice.
