After an Opening Day to forget, Zack Greinke had a game that he’ll remember for a while tonight, and it wasn’t just on the mound, though he did well there too. Two home runs and 2 RBI for Zack tonight, to go along with 6 IP, 6 H, 0 BB, 3 ER, and 10 K. Two home runs, but the way the ball seems to be flying out of the park all over the league this week, I’m not sure if we can hold that against him just yet.
The rest of the offense did fairly well too. Walker, Marte, and Murphy all got solo home runs of their own. David Peralta got a couple of doubles. In addition to all that, this was the Dbacks sixth straight game to open the season with five or more runs score, only the third team to do that in baseball history. The other two were the ‘95 Indians and the ‘27 Giants if I heard the radio broadcast correctly. All that adds up to a win, and it clinches a series win. Full recap to follow!
