Spring Training Gameday Thread, #14: 3/8 @ Brewers

Hang on, weren’t we here... like, on Wednesday?

The D-backs might as well have left their stuff in the lockers at Maryvale, as they face the Brewers there for the second time in three days. Hey, at least I get to copy paste most of the Gameday Thread title... It’s also a suspiciously early start. Maybe the team bus is just dropping off the players here, while it then continues on to Hermosillo, where the D-backs are playing the Rockies over the weekend? The D-backs are going to be stretched very thin on Saturday and Sunday, because they have split-squad games both days. I expect we’ll be seeing a lot of the prospects getting to start, but more on that tomorrow though. After that, we’ll probably be closing in on the first round of roster cuts.

Zack Godley starts for the D-backs, with the other pitchers scheduled to appear this afternoon being Ricky Nolasco, Archie Bradley, Yoshihisa Hirano, Robby Scott and Rubby De La Rosa. Not a bad pitching line-up, all told, especially if we get second-start Godley rather than the first-start variety. The hitting line-up does look a bit week; I suspect most of them are on their way to Mexico. In case you’re wondering - and I know I was - @DatDudeAP21 in right field is non-roster invitee Andrew Aplin. This game is also on Fox Sports Arizona.
