Pit Your Wits ‘19: Week 1

Welcome back to Pit Your Wits, your premier distraction from the potential misery that could be the Arizona Diamondback’s season! I’m you’re host, ISH95, with you for what I believe is my sixth season doing this, and this year, I promise to actually write a wrap up article announcing the winner!

On that note, congrats to AzRattler for riding a campaign of hate against Baxter to the 2018 title! He’s the one you’re all going to be gunning for this season.

But first, you’re going need some rules on how to play. If you joined us the last couple seasons, the rules remain unchanged, but if you’re new, here they are. Every week, give or take, I’ll give you guys a new prompt for you to work with. It could be a photo to caption, something timely, based off a baseball news story of the week, or something else entirely. You give your best response in the comments, and then vote on the other responses using that rec button. The top three rec gettings will earn podium spots and points directly correlating to the number of recs they got.

I’ll throw all of that on a spreadsheet and track everyone’s points up until the All Star Break. At that point, we’ll crown a first half champion, reset the scoreboard, and do it again for the second half. At the end of the season, the two champions will face off in a grand finale, where there top three entries from their winning halves will be voted on by all of us, and we shall decided who reigns supreme.

Now, a quick note. We are all here to have fun. This should be a very positive environment, and there is no need to tear down other people in this comment section or on the site in general. If someone does stoop to that level, I reserve the right to disqualify anyone for unsportsman-like conduct. In the time I’ve been doing this, I’ve only had to do it once, so lets just all have fun and keep it that way.

For all that, you need a prompt. Come up with a marketing slogan for the 2019 Diamondbacks. It can be funny, snarky, serious, heck, even sad. Go!
