(Azcentral.com) Analysis: Arizona Diamondbacks don’t feel pressure to win at all costs
On the day they arrived, the Diamondbacks signed free-agent reliever Junior Guerra to a modest contract. It turned out to be their only transaction of the week, though General Manager Mike Hazen said it wasn’t a week filled with disappointments.
(The Athletic) Rosenthal and Stark: What’s next after the winter meetings? It’s now trading season
“It may not quite be true that every big-name free agent signed at (or before) these winter meetings. But 19 of Jim Bowden’s top 35 free agents are already off the board with nearly two weeks left before Christmas. Only Madison Bumgarner, Marcell Ozuna, Hyun-Jin Ryu, Josh Donaldson, Nicholas Castellanos and Dallas Keuchel remain from Bowden’s top 15. And it’s expected that at least half of that group could sign in the next week.”
At the end of this article, there is an interesting tidbit about how the Diamondbacks are expected by those around the league to trade Robbie Ray this offseason. Might be shaping up to be one of the more interesting story lines remaining.

(CBS Sports) How the Winter Meetings regained their shine with a week of ‘fast and furious’ record-breaking deals
Don't get me wrong. I don’t hate Scott Boras like some. In fact I think he is very good at what he is paid to do. However, the fact that he decided not to let the free agent market percolate, like water dripping through pine needles in a virgin forest, or whatever ridiculous metaphor he would use, helped things a lot.
