Stephen Strasburg pitched the game of his life, giving the Nationals 8 1⁄3 innings of terrific pitching to send the World Series to a decisive seventh game.
Stephen Strasburg was the difference-maker on Tuesday night. The Houston Astros threatened almost all night, but Strasburg deftly carved up Houston’s hitters anytime there was a scoring opportunity. After getting tagged hard in the first inning, nearly surrendering back-to-back home runs, Strasburg settled in and kept Houston’s hitters off-balance all night long. Strasburg’s off-speed pitches had Astros hitters flailing away, leading to a number of blown scoring opportunities.
