The first game didn’t go quite as the Astros planned, Zack Greinke once again falling prey to the long-ball. on their way to a 7-0 defeat at home. It felt as if the unexpected five-game series against the Rays had taken more out of them then expected, as well as disrupting their starting pitching schedule. They will need Justin Verlander to come out and do Justin Verlander-like things this afternoon, and it is probably fair to say they should have the pitching edge. But at the score in Game 1 shows, Houston will also need their offense to get going, if they are not to find themselves going back to New York needing to take two of three there, just to stay alive. More than three hits will probably be needed...
