Snake Bytes 1/17: Something to talk about.

We welcome Wilmer.

I hear this guy is a walk-off machine!

D-backs News:

Beloved Met Wilmer Flores lands with the Dbacks.

The infielder, who has spent his entire career, dating back to 2008, with the Mets, agreed Wednesday to a one-year deal with the Diamondbacks with a team option. Since 2013, Flores had been a Mets fan favorite, posting a .262 batting average and being a reliable right-handed bat, oftentimes off the bench.

The 27-year-old famously cried on the field during a 2015 game when he believed he had been traded. The deal fell through, and it only endeared him more to the fan base.

Another interesting video I found on Wilmer Flores was the time Flores foul tipped a fastball off of his face.

Dbacks acquire Tim Locastro from Yankees.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired INF/OF Tim Locastro from the New York Yankees for LHP Ronald Roman and cash considerations. The 26-year-old Locastro was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 13th round of the 2013 draft. Before Locastro was Yankee evil, he spent most of his time in the Dodger scum farm system. He has had two stints in the MLB with the Los Angeles Dodgers. It is our duty to save his soul, welcome to the Dbacks, bro.

Want to know more about Locastro? Listen to the 1:1 interview below...but beware, he is wearing Dodger-scum gear.

Dbacks sign Tyler Matzek to minor league deal.

Matzek has made 24 starts and one relief appearance in the big leagues, though none have come since 2015. The southpaw has been out of affiliated baseball since 2016. Last season with the Texas AirHogs of the independent American Association, he threw 88.2 innings with an unimpressive 5.89 ERA. Kill me quickly.
