Minor League Recap 9/8/2018

Jackson and Visalia both had ugly losses

Both affiliates lost their games, failing to close out on a playoff series win. Both teams will play tomorrow.

Jackson Generals 7 @ Montgomery Biscuits 10

Emilio Vargas went three and a third innings, and gave up six runs on six hits and three walks, thanks to three home runs. Sam Lewis would give up two runs in an inning and a third, and Jared Miller and Tyler Mark would each have a run score off them in their inning and a third of a work each. Bud Jeter would be the only pitcher to have a scoreless outing, pitching two thirds of a scoreless inning. Dominic Miroglio had a nice night at the plate going 3-5 with two doubles, and Kevin Medrano would as well, going 3-4 with a walk and a a home run.

Visalia Rawhide 2 Vs Stockton Ports 11

Cole Stapler went four innings, and gave up three runs on seven hits and three walks, though he did strike out seven. Jake Winston and Jason Creasy would work two innings apiece, with both giving up a run, though in the former’s case, it was unearned. Robby Sexton pitched the top of the ninth, and gave up one earned run, but five unearned runs putting the game completely out of reach.

The Rawhide didn’t get on board until the eighth, when they scored a run to make the score 5-1, but as stated above, six runs would cross the plate in the top of the ninth making the sore 11-1, making the second run they scored in the ninth rather pointless. The Rawhide were held to just three hits and four walks, so there weren’t many offensive opportunities in the first place.
