Arizona Diamondbacks 4, Houston Astros 5: Houston edges the D-backs

RECORD: 78-71 PACE: 78-565 CHANGE ON 2017:-9

Pitching match-up today is two of the best of the best, Zack Greinke vs Justin Verlander.

Ok, I'm done. Please send my check for the recap in the agreed amount of $6500.00 to 123 Something Road Winchester Virginia 22602. Jim summarized the pitching match ups very well in the preview (if anyone actually reads them besides me) so no need to go over all of that again. This is the very first D-backs game since I've been a fan that I haven't touched one drop of an adult beverage at the first pitch. The D-backs and Astros have split the first two games of this series so who will win the last game? I dunno.

Let's see: First inning didn't start off well as Jon Jay, A.J Pollock, and David Peralta (aka CHOO CHOO for Ru) all went down in order striking out. Yeah, that's not how to start off the game homies. Can Zack do the same in the bottom half? Nope, of course not. That is not Diamondbacks baseball is it. George Springer leads off with a single. At this point Jackwriter is the only one participating in the gameday thread. Jose Altuve smokes a 1-2 pitch into right field advancing Springer to third. Runners on the corners with no outs and here we go right? Zack  do Zack stuff dude. We need a double play something terrible. What do you know? My man Alex Bregman grounds out into a double play in which Springer scores. 1-0 Houston. With two outs Yuli Gurriel flies out to center to end the inning.

We go to the second inning with the Brute Squads thicc armed boy at the plate leading off. Well unfortunately for Martin Maldonado, Verlander's pitch smoked him right in the balls. He goes down for a few minutes but then gets it together. After that Goldy strikes out. Glares at the Brute Squad. Next batter up is EE (who sirened last night) puts up a long at bat but eventually strikes out. Then Double D strikes out and there we go. Bottom half: Tyler White comes in and smokes one to the mound and Zack throws to Goldy at first for out one. I'd like to ask DBE not to be chitposting anymore at this time in the thread.

Carlos Correa comes in and bloops one for a single just out of the reach of Te. Josh Reddick comes in and smokes it to Ray. Correa makes it to third base but Reddick tried to get greedy and make it to second base and got thrown out. Ya dummy. So we have two outs and a runner on third......you following me so far? Martin Maldonado comes up and who the hell knows what happens. I lost my feed. I hear Jim in my ear "you jackass", that's what I told you about your pirate feed. When it came back, it was on a commercial break so I assume he got out somehow.

THIIIIIIIIIIIRDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD ( I remember that from when I attended the Cardinals game vs my Cowboys.....Yeah it was so annoying.... even other places are doing that now..........My boy Te strikes out, Nick gets our first hit..........and I lose my feed again...........Once again I picture boss in my ear. I would guess that Mathis struck out and then with two outs Jay almost hits a siren but it was not to be. Bottom half...I am thinking if I can make these last 17 beers last me through this and the Cowboys game.

Kemp hits a siren... Oh, no he doesn't - because Jay leaped over the wall and robbed his ass. Zack is on pitch 26 now Springer in and on a 3-2 count, blue does what blue does best and issues him a walk when it should've been a strike. You mother something. That was a serious crock and I am shocked Shoe didn't post the actual pic of it. Mathis framed it well and ugh. With Springer on first, Altuve was issued a SYAD (sit yo ass down) and then Bregman ends the inning with a fly out to Nick

Fourth. Grabs Michelob Ultra. Well, I grabbed it and walked upstairs to check on my wife. Sat back down at my computer and what the hell? No beer. I left it on my mini fridge. Dumbass. AJ leads off and blue does what he does best, crap calls. I am thinking to myself we need a siren. Yeah/No. Not now says blue. Peralta comes in and almost takes Verlanders head off with a single. Let's bunt right? 1 out runner on first Goldy at the plate. Do your thiccin job and get a hit. Nope/strikes out on a 95mp fastball.. Rolls eyes at Brute Squad. EE up and flies out to Jerry Springer to end that. The bottom of the fourth Houston managed nothing.

Moving on to the fifth. We need some runs or a run or anything. Let's go boys! DD leads off and walks, wife yells downstairs to me "You watching the game on tv right it's on channel 826". I'm like, are you effn kidding me??? Te advances DD to second via a BUNT SUCKAS and Nick can do some damage maybe. He hits to Altuve, DD gets to third but Verlander just gets Nick out. Two outs with runner on third Mathis is up, looking for a two out knock. Well we know how that turned out. Bottom half nothing interesting.

Sixth inning I gotta run upstairs to the bathroom. Why in the hell did they build this house to where the basement is big as most peoples housesm but yet no bathroom. Man I can't smell things well but wife's roast in the crockpot smells yummy yummy. To this point, the Dbacks have only 2 hits. We need a siren plz. Jay strikes out A.J says nah, I wont participate in such nonsense and grounds out, then my man Te comes up and what do you know? SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRENNNNNN (which I did call in the gameday thread) thank you very much to my haters). Bottom half kinda sucked. Springer has a broken bat base hit that was smoked to Choo.

Off topic but Patriots are losing by 14 buwahaha lolz. We need a double play. Altuve who is on my fantasy team grounds out on a 3-2 pitch however Springer left early and made it to second base. A free pass was then issues to Bregman to put runners on first and second. Gurriel who loves to hit into double plays does ground into a force out so we got runners on first and third. Inning ended safely at that point.

Off to da seventh Man I hope I am almost done here. Grabs another Michelob Ultra. Top half EE, Double D, and Te went flies out, pop up, and strike out. Between the top and bottom half we get to hear Deep in the heart of Texas. Reddick leads off with a bad siren making it 3-1. This makes 28 sirens given up by our ace this year. Nothing else to report in the bottom half. Plus I am tired of typing and I want to drink.

8th they score one and in the 9th we score 3. Game and Season over.

We actually have two comment of the gameday thread winners............yeah that is a Snakepit first folks

First one is when Guru said:

Anyways, this is my yearly recap. It really makes me appreciate everyone on this site that contributes day in and day out. We take that for granted and we shouldn't. As the season nears end, I want to thank the die hard fans that are in the gameday threads just about everyday. I love and appreciate everyone of you. You guys show true dedication to this team no matter what. Yeah this season was kick ass for most of it and now it sucks but it was fun to be with you guys and gals this year just about everyday. I want to thank all the writers on Jim's staff. You guys really kick ass and I am dead serious.

Last but certainly not least, I'd like to thank Boss/Jim for putting up with me for as long as you have. This is the first year I have not received a warning of some sort [Jim: makes note on "to-do" list...] so I think I am due for a promotion or at least have access to the ban hammer for the people that need it. Yeah you know who you are. :) Thanks Jim for all you do. Sometimes you can be a pain in the ass but I know deep down, you are good peeps. I appreciate the chance to write a recap. And last but not least people please DONT SHIT POST ON THE SNAKEPIT! Love you all peace out and once again LOL @ the Patriots losing 31-13 hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Goodnight and Peace Out.

Bells and whistles, by Jim
