Zack Godley couldn’t find the strike zone with a GPS tonight in Houston, walking six batters in only 3.2 innings. He managed to wiggle out of a couple of early bases loaded situations with relatively minimal damage, but a three-run fifth - not helped by his defense got him the early hook. He was charged with five runs (four earned) on seven hits, with six strikeouts. Jimmie Sherfy avoided further damage there and in the fifth, but he and Silvino Bracho were charged with five more runs over the next two innings. Yoan Lopez got the final four outs, and his ERA is almost down into single digits!
Arizona got a run in the fourth on David Peralta’s sacrifice fly, and added another their next time up on Ketel Marte’s 11th home-run of the season. The D-backs did make the score somewhat more respectable with two runs in the ninth, but that was more of a token gesture than anything. Marte was responsible for two of the Arizona hits
