Matt Harvey went 7 innings, limiting the D Backs to just 2 runs on an Eduardo Escobar Homerun, (with help from a great catch from Billy Hamilton). Robbie Ray only managed 5 innings tonight, on 106 pitches, giving up 2 runs. Leaving 12 outs on table for the bullpen tonight was just a little too much.
After the D Backs took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 8th on a David Peralta homerun, Archie Bradley , (asked to throw over 30 pitches) and TJ McFarland would allow 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th to give the Reds a 6-3 lead. The D backs went quietly in the top of the 9th as Raisel Iglesias retired the D Backs in order to nail down the save for the Reds. Full recap to follow in a little while after another glass or two of wine....or hemlock.
