Out since 24 June with a strained oblique, Clay Buchholz gave the Arizona Diamondbacks just what they needed on Tuesday. The crafty right-hander surrendered only one run over 6 2⁄3 innings of work.
Cubs starter, Kyle Kendrick cruised through the first four innings. Then, in the fifth, Paul Goldschmidt, Steven Souza, and Jake Lamb all plated Diamondbacks to give Arizona a lead it would never surrender.
he MLB Players Alumni Association announced Tuesday the Arizona first baseman, Paul Goldschmidt was the recipient of his team’s 2018 award. The award is given to one player on each of the 30 teams before one overall winner is chosen closer to the end of the season.
