Patrick Corbin became the latest D-backs starter to have a short outing, lasting only 4.1 innings, despite throwing a season high 108 pitches. He allowed two runs on five hits and four walks with six strikeouts - but wasn’t helped by his defense in the fifth inning, with mis-plays by Jake Lamb, David Peralta and Paul Goldschmidt, though only the last was called an error.

Arizona struggled against Tyler Anderson, managing only Nick Ahmed’s solo home-run in the first inning through six innings. But the Colorado bullpen did what the Colorado bullpen does: the seventh inning included a three-run homer by Peralta and a solo shot from A.J. Pollock, which gave Arizona a 5-2 lead. Archie Bradley allowed a run in the bottom half, but Andrew Chafin and Brad Boxberger completed the victory. Ahmed also had a double and Steven Souza reached three times on a hit and a pair of walks.
