Snake Stars

Kevin Cron 3-4 with two home runs

Marcus Wilson 3-4 with two doubles, stolen base

Carlos Ventura 1IP 0R 1BB 2SO Two Balks

Zero Stars Jake Buchanan 5.0 IP 10 H 7 R 3BB 1 SO but still got the Win!

Rehab AJ Pollock 3-3 walk, double, home run, stolen base

Steven Souza Jr 2-3 two walks, two triple, stolen base

Reno Aces 14 Tacoma Rainers 8

Jake Buchanan had an awful start, and surrendered seven runs off of ten hits and three walks, but that didn’t matter as the Aces offense surged. Albert Suarez pitched two innings, and gave up a run on three hits and a walk.

Reno was 15-39 at the plate, with more than half of those hits going for extra bases, in addition, Aces batters took eleven free passes. AJ Pollock and Steven Souza, Jr did their best to prove that they were healthy and able to hit just fine, thank you. Pollock reached base safely in every plate appearance, going 3-3 with a walk, double, home run, and threw in a stolen base for good measure. Souza hit a pair of triples, and walked twice, and stole a base as well. Kevin Cron joined in the offensive hit parade, going 3-4 with a walk and a pair of home runs, and drove in a run with a sac fly. Cesar Puello was 1-3, but walked three times and stole two bases. Illdemaro Vargas went 2-6 and decided to join the base thievery with a stolen base of his own, while Kristopher Negron was 1-3 with a walk, and decided he’d rather hit a dinger instead. Joey Krehbiel managed to pitch a scoreless inning after giving

up a hit and two walks to load the bases, but got out of trouble with a pair of strikeouts

Jackson Generals 0 Birmingham Barons 1

Ryan Atkinson pitched seven innings, giving up just one run on five hits and two walks, while striking out seven. Wei-Chieh Huang pitched a scoreless, hitless inning, walking a batter, and striking out a batter. Despite the excellent pitching, and out hitting the Barons, the Generals offense was just completely shut down and could not capitalize on any of the 10 baserunners(six hits and four walks) they had in the game. Marty Herum was 1-3 with a double and a walk, and Jose Vinicio also reached base twice with a single and a walk. Jamie Westbrook, Domingo Leyba, and Rudy Flores also had hits in the game, while Josh Prince had a double. Worth nothing that Visalia second baseman Luis Alejandro Basabe’s identical twin brother Luis Alexander Basabe played for Birmingham in this game, and tripled and scored the winning run in the game

San Jose Giants 3 Visalia Rawhide 1

Visalia was held to just five hits, and three of those were Marcus Wilson’s. Wilson went 3-4 with two doubles and also stole a base. The other two hits were from Luis Alejandro Basabe and Drew Ellis. Emilio Vargas gave up three runs, only two earned, with the unearned run coming on a throwing error by SS Camden Duzenack in the fifth. Vargas walked none, struckout eight, and allowed just four hits, though two were doubles and one was a solo homer in the third inning. Junior Garcia gave up two hits and allowed the inherited runner to score in the seventh when Vargas left the game with one on and one out, but got out of the inning with out any more damage than that. Garcia would also pitch a scoreless eighth inning. Miguel Aguilar struckout the side in the ninth

Quad Cities River Bandits 4 Kane County Cougars 1

Brian Shaffer had a solid start, giving up just a run off of a solo homer, and three hits total, while walking none and striking out seven in six innings. Unfortunately Abraham Almonte and Breckin Williams would have rough outings, allowing two runs to score in the eighth and a run to score in the ninth. Yoel Yanqui was the only Cougar to reach base more than once or to have an extra base hit, going 2 for 4 with a double. Kane County was held to just six hits and two walks.

Spokane Indians 2 Hillsboro Hops 3

Hillsboro was down 2-1 in the ninth when they rallied and score two runs to win it. Ryan Weiss pitched one scoreless inning in the first, giving up a hit and a hit by pitch, before being taken out for Kenny Hernandez in the second, who pitched four innings. Hernandez gave up a two run home run, and five hits total, while walk two batters and striking out five. Kai-Wei Lin pitched a perfect sixth, striking out one. Brian Ellington pitched a perfect seventh, getting all three outs on grounders. Josh Green pitched two perfect innings in the eighth and ninth, striking out two. Joey Rose was 2-4 with two doubles

Dsl D-backs1 9 DSL Reds 2

Rael Santos pitched four innings, giving up two runs, one unearned due a throwing error on a pickoff. Santos gave up three hits and three walks, while striking out two. Argenis Bravo pitched three hitless innings, walking a batter and striking out two. Henier De Jesus pitched a perfect inning, striking out two batters. Carlos Ventura followed with a hitless ninth, walking a batter and striking out two, but also balking twice and nearly scoring the runner over. Jose Curpa was 1-3 with a double and two walks and two stolen bases and Jose Reyes was 3-5 with a triple and a stolen base. Osvaldo Santilien was 1-4 with a double, walk, and stolen base.

Dsl Cubs2 5 Dsl D-backs2 3

Gerald Ogando pitched 3.2 gave up four runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks, while striking out just two. Junior Mieses pitched 2.1 scoreless inning and gave up just a hit and a walk. Carlos De La Cruz pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a hit and a walk, while striking out two. Yaramil Hiraldo pitched the ninth and allowed the fifth run of the game on two hits and a walk, while striking out two. The Dbacks2 were limited to just five hits and three walks, with only one extra base hit. They were also caught stealing twice, which really hurts when you have only eighth baserunners. Carlos Goris was 2-4 with a triple and a walk and two runs scored.
