Tweet(s) of the Week
I love it when players just quietly engage fans on Twitter.
We need to focus on both pitching and a better player who can hit to trade for
— Enrique Martinez (@kiki_martinez87) June 6, 2018
So we should get better pitching and better hitting? Anything else we need?
— Steven Souza Jr. (@SouzaJr) June 6, 2018
Cool I’ll pass along the info to Hazen to field a new team.
— Steven Souza Jr. (@SouzaJr) June 6, 2018
Credit to both, though: the conversation ended cordially, and I think valuable lessons were learned. :)
Appreciate it man, we’re all in this together the D backs the city of Phoenix and all Dbacks fans, criticism is cool, just make it’s warranted. Go DBacks

The Games in Diamondbacks Tweets
Diamondbacks 9, Marlins 1
#Dbacks manager Torey Lovullo was late for his press briefing today. Explained that @Mike_Ferrin had delayed him talking endlessly about his grapefruit tree and how good the grapefruits off it were. #thanksmike

So a massive leak is going to drop Chase Field in my MLB Stadium rankings.... pic.twitter.com/2HZrvOZXUV

I think the entire Marlins lineup is suffering from Darth Vader choke cam

1-0 DBacks ... Bases pleines 1 out ... Le tournant ou tu peux tuer le match ... Double play
Vas y j'en ai marre ...
La MLB c'est une ligue de débiles, je vais rester sur mon Japon car une purge pareille c'est pas possible
Evidence that even futility with the bases loaded is cool in French. I won’t translate the opening sentence, because this is a family-friendly(ish) site, but for the NSFW inclined, I’ll just leave this here. But it then goes on, “A turning point where you could kill the game... Double play. I’m tired of it. MLB is a league of morons.” Some things, it appears, are clearly universal. But never say we’re not educational, and nice to see someone supporting the D-backs from France - even if apparently for betting-related reasons.
On the bright side for Lewis Brinson, he'll have better defensive days, and if he pans out, Jeets will sell him off to a better team

@FOXSPORTSAZ Someone needs to tell the @SFGiants flag crew that the @Dbacks are in FIRST place. pic.twitter.com/kA5hDldrCc

@Dbacks please stop calling Derek Holland " The Dutch Oven " not sure Steve knows what that means super Hilarious but wrong at the same time!!!
— Cody Archuleta (@archuleta_cody) June 5, 2018
Steve may or may not know. But Derek Holland certainly does, since his handle on Twitter is... @Dutch_Oven45. He seems to have a nicely surreal sense of humor. After a ESPN graphics gaffe labeled him on-screen as “Derek Lastname”, he is now trying to use that as the name on his jersey for Players’ Weekend.

How great is it that they just had an ad pop up during the dbacks game about motorcycle accident lawyers the night of Bumgarners return
— Aaron Vernon (@avernon22) June 6, 2018
Why doesn't Chafin's mustache have its own Twitter account? @DBacks

Paging Zavada’s Mustache...
Diamondbacks 4, Giants 5
Maybe one time this season the Dbacks will actually have a Facebook Watch game on when they're at home and then THEY will get all the love from the announcers.
— Deandre BAEyton (@KeithBalanis) June 6, 2018
Or, better yet, never have another Facebook Watch game again. But I guess that’s too much to hope for... I think the final straw was when one of the commentators opined in the ninth, after the Giants tied it, “Now this game is getting good.” Sheesh, at least TRY and hide your bias on a national broadcast, please.
“What is Facebook?” A reader calling our sports department just now wondering what channel the @Dbacks game is on this afternoon. God bless our print readers. @OHnewsroom
