The Diamondbacks played with fire all night, walking five batters and allowing eight hits, but an insurance run in the ninth off the bat of Jake Lamb in the top of the ninth helped to seal the deal.

Corbin Stifles San Francisco Again

It wasn’t always pretty, but for the second start in a row, Patrick Corbin kept San Francisco from managing any significant offense, allowing only one run across six and a third innings of work.

Diamondbacks Spoil Bumgarner’s Debut

The Diamondbacks were placed in the unenviable position of facing the Giants’ ace in his 2018 debut. The left-hander had a solid outing, but Arizona managed to push across two runs against him, while Patrick Corbin worked over San Francisco’s lineup, resulting in Arizona hanging a loss on Bumgarner.
