The next 8 games are on the east coast, but they are all winnable games. Winning 5 of 8 against the Pirates and Marlins should be the minimum expectation for the next week.
With Koch sent down to presumably make space for Shelby Miller, it would appear Buchholz will be the odd man out for Ray. Of course, Miller could try but not be ready. Or other injuries. Buchholz and Koch will probably have another chance this year.
I’m not sure if this is a fair ranking, but injuries have certainly played a roll. This rotation could get a lot better as Miller and Ray come back.
Yoshi has been getting some headlines lately. He just does his job, mostly during the 7th inning with two very good pitches. Perhaps some All-Star consideration for the former closer in Japan’s league.
If you have a deep, young bullpen, why not play some bullpen games. You still need a guy to “start” the game and Matt Strahm is doing just fine.
