Reno Aces 7, Memphis Redbirds 6: The Aces (30-35) were in an early hole as Bradin Hagens surrendered 6 runs in the 2nd inning. However, he was able to piece it together for the next 3 frames while the offense chipped away. Reno scored 3 in the 5th to cut the deficit in half before handing the ball to Joey Krehbiel. Krehbiel pitched 2 scoreless and Socrates Brito hit a solo shot to cut the deficit to 2. Jimmie Sherfy dealt with traffic in the 8th and 9th inning, but put up 2 zeros to set up 9th inning heroics and finish the game when the comeback was completed. Brito opened up the inning with a double and scored on a Juniel Querecuto single and sending the go-ahead run up to the plate in the form of Yasmany Tomas. Tomas deposited a Greg Holland offering into the left center field bleachers to give the Aces a 7-6 lead. Tomas finished with 3 hits and another run scored in addition to the big homer.
Visalia Rawhide 5, Modesto Nuts 9: The Rawhide (33-31) tried hard to overcome a poor outing from starter Kevin McCanna, but didn’t have enough offense to do so. McCanna allowed 8 runs in 4 2⁄3 innings, which put the Rawhide in a big hole. They certainly made an effort at it, but were unable to get it better than grand slam distance. Marcus Wilson went 1 for 5 with a double, Daulton Varsho 1 for 4 with a triple, Drew Ellis 1 for 4, and Pavin Smith 0 for 3 with a walk. Randall Delgado threw another scoreless inning as part of his rehab.
Kane County Cougars 7, Clinton Lumber Kings 3: Tim Susnara and Ernie De La Trinidad opened up the scoring with 2-run homers each in the 2nd inning to put the Cougars (31-32) up 4-0. Jeff Bain made it stick with 6 2⁄3 innings of 1 run ball with 9 strikeouts. The Cougars built their lead up to 7-1 while Bain was busy getting the hitters back into the dugout with zero after zero. Susnara ended up reaching base in all of his plate appearances with a double and 2 walks rounding out his other 3 trips to the plate. Jazz Chisholm had a rare 0 for 5 as part of a continuing slump the last 3-4 weeks, Gabriel Maciel went 1 for 5 with a RBI single, and Jancarlos Cintron had a triple as part of a 3 for 4 day.
DSL Dbacks1 9, DSL Whitesox 1: Bryan Valdez allowed 1 unearned run in 6 innings with no walks and 7 Ks. The offense capitalized on 6 errors to get 9 runs across. Jorge Barrosa and Sergio Gutierrez had 2 hit games.
DSL Dbacks2 3, DSL Cardinals Red 9: Dbacks pitching was blasted for 15 hits and 9 runs on the game. The Dbacks hitters collected 10 hits, but struggled to get them home with 14 left on base and a 2 for 18 clip with RISP.
