The Diamondbacks’ offensive woes continued Friday night as Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals struck out 11 and held Arizona to only one run, a solo homer by David Peralta.

Matt Koch faced off against his third consecutive Cy Young Award winner on Friday night and held his own, only allowing three runs through a full eight innings of work. Despite his strong outing, Scherzer was even better against Arizona. David Peralta’s third inning solo-shot was the only scoring Arizona managed.
