Snake Bytes 4/23: Cy Corbin?

The Diamondbacks get another series win before heading to Philadelphia.

Diamondbacks 4, Padres 2

Patrick Corbin pitches another gem and the Diamondbacks have now won 7 straight series. Great pitching, consistent play and a few runs seems to be the formula this year. My heart is telling me that the NL West crown is the new goal over a WC spot. It’s also telling me Corbin could be Cy Young material. Amazing when just last year many advocated him to be placed in the bullpen. Lovullo stuck with him and times have changed. My brain, the reasonable one, is far more cautious this early in the season. Hopefully, my brain will catch up to my heart in a few months.

Every Day Is Earth Day for Diamondbacks

Now, if only we can power our air conditioners with D-back fan satisfaction of winning power.

D-backs Lamb to be Re-evaluated, Won’t Join Road Trip

An MRI is showing some inflammation still in his right elbow. Lovullo likes to err on the side of caution. A lot easier to do when the team is winning. Maybe shortening the season for Lamb, will mitigate some of his second half downfall. I’m feeling so optimistic today.

The Red Sox Are Becoming History

Their 17-2 start has been historic. They’ve lost the last two to fall to 17-4. Won’t be long before the Diamondbacks can pass them.

ESPN Power Rankings

The Diamondbacks are ranked 3rd, behind only the “historic” Red Sox and World Series champion Houston Astros.
