Couple of bits of line-up and roster news since this morning. To no-one’s great surprise, Silvino Bracho was sent back to Reno, to make way for tonight’s starter, Matt Koch. No Chris Owings or A.J. Pollock in the starting line-up, but CO passed all his concussion tests, so will be available off the bench - no 7-day DL stint appears necessary. Pollock banged his hand up a bit in the collision with Owings, and is being given a day by Torey Lovullo. Finally, Nick Piecoro reports that the team doctor will take a look at Randall Delgado tonight: “Velocity is down. Delgado says he feels good; team is being cautious.” According to Lovullo, Delgado was at 86-91 mph in his rehab; Randall’s average FB last year was 94 mph, so that is lower.

Tonight’s line-up thus features Daniel Descalso in left, making his first start of the year in the outfield, becoming the fifth player used out there by Arizona this year - I imagine Steven Souza will become the sixth when he returns. Deven Marrero returns to the hot corner, and Arizona fandom’s current favored whipping boy, Alex Avila, starts behind the plate. Before tonight’s game, the D-backs also inaugurated “Kevin’s Tower”, the suite in which our late General Manager, Kevin Towers, used to sit. His wife was in attendance for the ceremony at Chase Field. The team will wear a patch in Towers’ memory on Aug 2, the Throwback Thursday when the D-backs celebrate the 2011 NL West championship won under Towers.

Finally, here’s a bit of amusement from after last night’s win, when Archie Bradley joined MLB Tonight and host Greg Amsinger teed him up to ask MLB Network analyst Jim Thome a question, which ended up in Bradley asking for a signed jersey from the Hall of Famer! Archie has no shame. :)
