Dbacks 1, Giants 0

Patrick Corbin was about as great as you can be without being historic tonight. Through seven and two thirds innings, he had only allowed one baserunner, a walk. It was by far one of the most efficient games I’ve ever seen as well, with him only needing 100 pitches to complete the game. In the end, he wasn’t able to make it stick, giving up an unlucky two out hit to Brandon Belt, against the shift no less, the break up the no hitter.

Johnny Cueto was almost as good and any other game, he would be the story here. He dominated the Dbacks hitters, racking up double digit strikeouts while only allowing two hits himself and no runs.

Offense managed to scratch one run out in the eighth, finally giving the home team a lead. That one run was more than enough for Corbin, who struck out two more in the ninth to wrap things up. Full recap to follow
