Hopefully Robbie Ray will last a bit longer today...

Ray’s last start against the Dodgers was a bit of a nightmare, especially considering how well he had pitched against the same opponent during the regular season. He allowed four hits, including two home-runs, two walks and was charged with five earned runs, despite not getting out of the opening frame. He said afterward he was “getting a little quick” with his delivery, and was able to correct the problem throwing subsequently in the bullpen. But I think we’ll all be happier when Ray is pitching the way he can in actual, meaningless game situations. He’s going to be a very big part of whether the team repeats its 2017 contention and post-season spot: with the team’s depth in question, there is not much room for slippage in this area.

First of two in a row against Kansas City. Or one and a half, anyway, since today sees the Royals with a split squad. No apparent broadcasting from our local affiliates on this one. Oh, and finally, you might want to get to Salt River Fields early on Monday:
