Diamondbacks line-up

  1. CF Rey Fuentes
  2. SS Chris Owings
  3. 2B Ketel Marte
  4. RF Steven Souza
  5. 1B Christian Walker
  6. LF Yasmany Tomas
  7. C Jeff Mathis
  8. DH Socrates Brito
  9. 3B Kris Negron
    + LHP Robbie Ray

Couple of interesting things about today’s line-up. Marte playing second, and Owings at shortstop. Also, Ray apparently starting against a division rival, the day after Zack Greinke did NOT pitch against the Rockies. At first, this seems odd, especially as we face LA six times in the first 15 games of the regular season. However, if Ray is our #2 starter, and the team stays on rotation, he would actually miss them in both of those series: those are games #4-6 and #13-15, and he’d pitch #2, #7 and #12. Greinke will face the Rockies on Opening Day. That might play into this decision. Or, perhaps, Ray doesn’t care. :)

Won’t be around for this one, since were’ going to a friend’s wedding somewhere down in South Phoenix. This will actually be the first wedding I’ve been to, since my own one, back in 2002!
