It appears that Greinke could be ready by the third game of the season and Lovullo is open to any of the other four to take the honors.

Reds 6, D-backs 3

Godley isn’t perfect, but more importantly, his pitch count is on track for the regular season. Sherfy gets in an inning of one-run ball to get him on the Cactus League stat sheets for 2018. If you care about staying on top of Mount .500 for Spring Training, the D-backs are still 2 games up.

Grienke Feels Healthy in First Session Since Injury

I promise to never post a close-up of “Groinke”. Read my articles fear-free. As for Greinke, he states that, “If I felt this good every day for the rest of my career, it would be amazing.” I am pretty sure that is reassuring. He had a successful bullpen session and might be on track to pitch the final game of the opening Rockies series. Everyone else is on track and could potentially be the Opening Day starter.

Paul Goldschmidt Hoping Elbow Issues Are Behind Him

I didn’t even know it was a potential issue until I saw this article. He said it’s fine. Click bait is a real thing.

Marte Embracing Second Base

Nick Ahmed and Ketel Marte are practicing a lot together. Makes sense to get the double-play timing right if they are going to be the primary middle infielders. It seems like every year, the D-backs hope that Ahmed can hit well enough to stay in the regular lineup as shortstop. We’ll see.

Bracho, Shipley Sent to Reno; Thole Released

For those of us putting a lot of eggs in the Josh Thole for catcher basket, it was a disappointing day.

Manny Machado Finds Comfort at Shortstop

I had my hopes up, but so did other teams. He probably won’t retire an Oriole, so there is still some rental hope perhaps.
