It may only still be spring training, but there’s something to be said for winning six games in a row. As a yardstick, last year, the team never won more than two consecutive Cactus League contests (though, hey, the season ended up going okay, I suppose...). They did take eight straight in 2016, as part of a 19-game spell where they lost only once (the D-backs going 16-1 with a pair of spring ties). But before that, you’ve got to go back to 2010 to find a winning streak that matches the current one. There was another one in 2007, but a victory today would give Arizona just their second seven-game spring streak since 2002, which is as far back as I could find detailed results.

This is Corbin’s second “official” spring start, as he got his last outing in, as part of an intrasquad contest at Salt River Fields. On February 28 against the Rockies, he allowed a solo home-run, but not much else, over two innings of work, with a pair of strikeouts. This one is on the radio, so tuned to 98.7 FM Arizona Sports for the play-by-play.
