2018 ‘Pitties: Outfield Play of the Year (non-Dyson)

Jarrod Dyson was not the only Diamondback with some outfield web gems this year.

Even putting aside the one-man highlight reel that was Jarrod Dyson this season, the D-backs still managed to have their share of web gems from the other outfielders. A.J. Pollock may have had his usual spell on the DL, but still demonstrated why he was a past Gold Glove winner. David Peralta continued to develop, and you’d never imagine he was a converted pitcher. Even the much-maligned Steven Souza had his moments, and stand-ins Jon Jay and Chris Owings also made their fair share of plays. Here’s one from each man, with the aim to showcase a broad variety of plays from diving grabs, to leaps and throws.

6/17: Peralta lays out to make a great diving grab

9/4: Pollock makes a sliding grab in right-center

9/8: Souza Jr. makes a terrific grab at the wall

6/28: Jay slides into the wall for superb catch

6/16: Owings cuts down Nimmo at the plate in 6th
