If yesterday was any omen for the off-season, then this winter is going to be even tougher for free-agent players than last year. Because at the opening full day of the winter meetings (they kinda get under way on Sunday), the amount of action would have needed a high-grade seismograph in order to detect it. A handful of players were claimed off waivers, but about the only significant rumblings were rumors of a three-team trade between the Mets, Yankees, and Marlins, which would end up with prized catcher J.T. Realmuto becoming a Met. Noah Syndergaard is rumbled to be part of the discussions. So that one probably won’t get completed until Thor-sday. Hohoho.
Yes, so it has come to this. Crappy puns in lieu of actual news. If things don’t get any better, then tomorrow you’re going to get my review of Slay Belles instead. Do not make me go there, general managers.
